In 2005 Mr Makhmutov graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) with a degree in International Political Science.
2007-2011 – Professor, administrative work in the University.
2011-2019 – Deputy Program Director of the Russian international Affairs Council (RIAC).
In July 2019, he was appointed Director of Department of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Mr Makhmutov wrote two monographs and 40 scientific articles on various issues of international relations and domestic policy of Russia.

WGSDG KSDI second meeting: key results and future plans

Digital Auditing in Russia and China: regional agencies help their SAIs to enrich databases
“Regular ACRF monitorings of SAIs’ activities during the COVID-19 show the significant increase in digitalization around the world. The pandemic has forced the implementation of new technologies and mechanisms in our work. SAIs have to switch to working online: remote access to databases, online services for auditing and knowledge exchange in this sphere”, – stated Timur Makhmutov, Director of Department for International and Regional Cooperation, in his welcome address at the seminar on digitalization held by the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation and the National Audit Office of the People’s Republic of China.
